    Oracle WebCenter Suite: Bringing Web 2.0 to the Enterprise User

This session will show how Oracle Fusion Middleware is bringing together the power of standards like Java Server Faces, JSR 168, JSR 170 and WSRP with the rich interfaces of Web 2.0 services like Wikis, Blogs and RSS feeds to create new, highly productive forms of user interaction. This session will feature a live demo that illustrates how enterprise IT can optimize the productivity of information workers and enterprise applications using the latest services oriented technology and Web 2.0 services. And finally, there will be a discussion for how Oracle Fusion Applications will leverage this technology as a foundation for their future.

    Upgrading Retek/Oracle Retail RMS9 to use Oracle 10g: Project Overview
    The session will review an actual upgrade of the Oracle Database from 8i to 10g for an existing Retek/Oracle Retail Merchandising System v9.0.4 implementation. It will go over the staffing requirements, the steps taken to achieve the goal, the timeline used for the project, identified problems that required codes changes, and the lessons we learned along the way. It will also touch briefly on the other tools also effected by this implementation - ARI, Crystal Reports, and Cognos Impromptu reports.
