August 21, 2008
  • Session 1
August 21, 2008 9:00 AM U.S. Eastern (New York) Time
CONSOLIDATE BI AND PLANNING APPLICATIONS TO CUT COSTS AND IMPROVE USER PRODUCTIVITY USING ESSBASE
These sessions feature real world best practices case studies on two large banks and a large grocery retailer. These companies were incurring inefficiencies in their internal business intelligence reporting and planning processes cause by isolated data silos and over use of uncontrolled Excel spreadsheets.
Excel spreadsheets are great for reporting and planning because they allow business users to employ the metrics that they are familiar with and use to run their business. Unfortunately, their use introduces the risk of data entry errors and incorrect formulas. In addition, they cannot support the volume of data needed to run a large business.
    Each case study describes:
    • Reporting and planning challenges faced using the old systems
    • New systems implemented to solve their challenges
    • Details supporting the user productivity improvements and cost savings
Your presenter for these sessions will be Tim Tow, President of Applied OLAP, Inc. and Oracle ACE Director.

    Available Seats: 9
