The Wizard of OKS – R12 Oracle Service Contracts Advanced Features
Oracle Service Contracts (OKS) in Release 12 introduces several advanced features including contract lifecycle management using an html administrator workbench, contract renewal using online acceptance portal and changes in the coverage model architecture. Learn how to implement these advanced features during this session and become ‘The Wizard of OKS’ when you successfully implement the same on your instance!

Oracle Service Contracts Release 12 has now included contract lifecycle management capabilities using a very intuitive html administrator workbench. The workbench is configurable and can be personalized by the user. The workbench provide search and inquiry capability to display in-process contracts or all contracts and even search by service lines and covered levels. The workbench provides drill-down capabilities to the install base and provides ability to cancel the sub-line instead of deleting it in case of service not renewed. The ability to preview contracts impacted by updates to the installed base will reduce re-work and data cleanup for inadvertent changes to contract. Also it would provide better visibility to lost renewal revenue. The html administrator workbench thus provides a 360 degree view of all the contracts. Managing contracts using the administrator workbench will provide greater visibility to renewal opportunities. The contract search and inquiry pages would enhance the inquiry capabilities and access to contract information.

The online renewal acceptance portal helps in improving the customer experience through self-service contract management. Using the administrator workbench contracts can be published to the online acceptance portal for quote acceptance. Customers can accept the quote or request the sales representative to contact them. A field called negotiation statuses introduced in Release 12 assists in providing a quick view of the contract status in the renewal process. A notification is sent to the sales representative or renewal analyst to contact the customer for in case the customer wants changes in the contract for the renewal. Reminders to customers can also be sent to the online acceptance portal using the html administrator workbench. This would facilitate timely response and helps improve customer satisfaction.

The contract workbench now shows the contract value for cancelled amount, adjusted amount, terminated amount and billed amount. Changes in coverage model from coverage templates to standard coverage linked to master and standard items would reduce the data volumes that are every increasing due to multiple templates. The policy deviations report while generating and approving contracts is feature introduced to assist in auditing the contract data.
