Unfold the Mystic Power of Page Layouts and Personalizations
Abstract
In the age of Information overload, providing personalized information based on the individual’s role and need is a challenging task. Unfold the secret to achieve this task without using complex customizations. Learn the tips and techniques of designing Page Layouts and personalizations to provide the information on various aspects of Projects, in the order and priority required by the individual users.
Executive Summary
To be competitive in business, today’s organizations spend huge amount of time and money in improving performance and utilizations of employees, thus providing scope for tools to report the information based on individual’s role and need. Ability to provide the right information at right time and in the right format or order is a very important aspect to maximize the resource utilization, speed up the decision making and improve the overall performance.
This presentation focuses on exploring the tips and techniques for creating, modifying the pre defined page layouts and other personalization features provided as out of the box solution by Oracle Projects, thus avoiding the need for complex customizations.
In the first session of the presentation, Learn how to create new page layouts based on individual requirements, modifying the pre defined page layouts by changing the specific sections of the page or the order in which the sections are displayed, select different page regions, usage of predefined tab regions and display selected information in the specified order. Also learn how you can create user defined attributes and modify the page layouts to display the information from user defined attributes.
In the second part of the presentation, learn about other techniques of personalizations such as hide columns on a page or display the hidden columns, hide a complete region, change the order of rows or columns from a predefined display of information using the personalization options of Oracle. Also learn about, how you will be able to change the prompts and modify the field attributes from updatable to ready only. You can also add a tip or a link for opening another page from the existing page.

Can Your Organization Recover if Disaster Strikes?
Businesses today operate on global economy and the IT systems that they are based on cannot afford to go down. With increasing dependence on business-critical data, priorities of IT managers have changed in the last few years to protect data.
Statistics show that of companies that have had a major data loss 43% never re-open and 51 % close within two years. It is a common belief that companies spend 25 % of their IT budget on disaster recovery in order to prevent the unthinkable. Shrinking backup windows coupled with constantly changing data and business requirements impose great challenges on conventional backup procedures and techniques.
While unplanned outages are completely unacceptable, it is very hard to find sufficient amount of planned downtime for regular maintenance. Therefore, there is an imminent need for an alternate system that the business can operate on while maintenance is being performed on their actual production environment. It is quite obvious that this ‘standby’ environment needs to be ever consistent with the actual ‘primary’ while being prudent about network and CPU resources.
Oracle’s Dataguard with a physical standby database offers an exact physically identical copy of the primary database, which is a supported solution for Oracle Applications 11i system. Business continuity can be achieved using a physical standby database combined with file-system mirroring utilities that can keep the Applications-tier in sync with the actual primary environment. Maintenance activities like patches and upgrades can be performed with minimal loss of service.
This paper discusses a step-by-step process of implementing a Business Continuity / Disaster Recovery infrastructure for an Oracle Applications Release 11i (11.5.10) System. The design is based on Oracle’s Maximum Availability Architecture (MAA) concepts and best practices.

Uh! Constraining & sequencing those flows are painful! – Not any more!!!
In a flow manufacturing environment, It is very common and genuine expectation to have the capability to sequence the flow schedule in a most economic way while considering certain constraints. This presentation discusses the latest features available in 11.5.10 to meet this expectation and how these features are effectively leveraged by taking a real life example with reducing changeovers as the main objective under different constraints like material constraint, demand due dates, etc. Also discusses some other excellent features available in 11.5.10 to improve the productivity, some issues faced and corresponding resolutions. If you are wondering whether you should go with Oracle EBS or for a third party shop floor scheduling and execution tool as you have been advised by your peers based on their past experience (while Oracle EBS being your main ERP System), you should consider attending this session.

Rapid Clone – Advanced Techniques, Tips and Tricks for 11i EBS cloning
In the recent year Oracle has strengthened support for cloning complex 11i environment configurations using Rapid Clone method. Rapid Clone utility has matured allowing DBAs not only to clone 11i environment but add nodes to an existing system, reduce number of nodes, clone RAC and clone shared file system.
This presentation will review how to clone your Oracle Applications 11i environment using “rapid clone” method and will also cover in detail advanced rapid clone procedures and necessary steps to clone a single node to multi node environment, a multi node to multi node environment, merge appl_tops, clone shared appl_tops, clone RAC and add node to an existing RAC using rapid clone utility.
Further, limitations of rapid clone tool will be discussed as well as techniques and tips to clone split tier 11i environments.
Attendees will learn how to use advanced rapid clone techniques to successfully clone Oracle 11i E-business Suite environments.
