OAUG Sites and Systems Instructions
Thank you for taking the time to update your
organization's sites and systems. The intent of this document is to provide
assistance for you as you update your member information. Having accurate and
up-to-date information is crucial when a member is trying to contact another
member with similar hardware platforms, operating systems, version and Oracle
Applications installed. It also helps qualify you for Special Interest
Groups in which you may be interested.
What do you mean by "Sites and Systems?"
Each user member company has a certain number of "Sites," or locations at which they have Oracle
Applications installed. "Systems" refer to the
computer hardware installed at that location. A number of Oracle
Applications have been installed on each system.
At OAUG, we capture the following information:
SITE A location at which one or more Oracle
Applications are installed.
- Site Name A
friendly name by which a site is identified. It can be something like,
"Corporate Headquarters," or "Orlando Branch Office." This is for your
reference purposes to readily identify a location.
- City The
city where the site is located
- State If in
the US, the state where the site is located. If outside of the US, this
can be left blank.
- Country The
country in which the site is located.
- Systems Located at 'SiteName' This refers to the
systems implemented at the current site. Click "Add System" to add a
server, or click on the System Name to edit an existing server.
SYSTEM The actual computer hardware on which Oracle
Applications are installed. A site may have one or more systems.
- System Name A friendly name by which the computer hardware can be
identified. This can be a general description or a server name.
Examples may include: "Dell PowerEdge" or "BETELGEUSE." This is for your
reference purposes to readily identify your hardware.

that system. Select from the pulldown list. As hardware changes
every day, if your hardware is not included on this list, please email us to
request it be added.

installed on that system. Select from the pulldown list. As
operating systems change regularly, if your OS is not included on this list,
please email us to request it be
added.

version of the implementation. This is used to track upgrades. For
example, the original implementation version for your Oracle Applications may
have been 10.7, even though you are now running version 11.5.3.
- Original Implementation Version Live Date The date of
the original implementation.
- Latest Upgrade Version (Planned or Actual) This can
refer to either the version you are currently running, or the version to which
you plan to upgrade.

upgrade.
